Baharat simply translates to "spice" and is a traditional and incredibly versatile spice blend from North Africa. Our Baharat 'Chicken' is specially formulated for chicken dishes.
The blend gives dishes a wonderfully spicy oriental note and is traditionally briefly fried in butter before the other ingredients are added.
Our Baharat is produced in our spice manufactory according to carefully refined and well-guarded recipes before it is coarsely ground and ends up in our ceramic pots. This preserves the valuable essential oils and aromas. It should only be finely crushed in a mortar shortly before use and cooked with. Alternatively, Baharat can also be used as a finely crushed table spice.

Baharat is mainly used in Syria, Morocco, Israel, Lebanon, and Jordan. However, it is also often found in Turkish cuisine and Middle Eastern dishes. There is no original recipe, nor can it be precisely dated when it was first used. Baharat behaves like an Indian curry: The composition and number of spices vary from region to region.
